The Indian Premier League is done and dusted. Here’s a look at the top 10 batsmen in the competition.

Virat Kohli: The Royal Challengers Bangalore batsman was by far the best, and most consistent batsman in the tournament. In 16 games, he amassed an unbelievable 973 runs at a strike rate of 152 with four hundreds and seven fifties. Kohli averaged a spectacular 81.08 with a best of 113.

David Warner: The winning IPL skipper was the only one to come somewhat close to Kohli in the run-getters list. In 17 games, he accumulated 848 runs at a strike rate of 151.42 with nine half-centuries. Warner finished with an average of 60.57, and a best of 93 not out.

AB de Villiers: Not surprisingly, the RCB batsman is at number three in the list. In 16 games, he finished with 687 runs at a brilliant strike rate of 168.79, with one hundred and six fifties. De Villiers had an average of 52.84, with a best of 129 not out.

Gautam Gambhir: The number four was quite some distance away in terms of runs. The KKR skipper ended with 501 runs from 15 matches at a strike rate of 121.89, with five half-centuries. Gambhir averaged 38.53 with a best of 90 not out.

Shikhar Dhawan: After a poor start, Dhawan recovered well to finish at number five in the run-getters list. After 17 games, he managed 501 runs at a strike rate of 116.78, with four fifties. The left hander averaged 38.53 with a best score of 82 not out.

Rohit Sharma: The Mumbai Indians skipper was among the few saving graces for his side. In 14 games, he managed 489 runs at a strike rate of 132.88, with five half-centuries. Sharma averaged 44.55 with a best of 85 not out.

Ajinkya Rahane: The Rising Pune Supergiants opener scored 480 runs in 14 games at a strike rate of 126.64 with six fifties. Rahane finished with an impressive average of 43.63 and a best of 74. He was among the key reasons why Pune managed to win a few games in what was an otherwise disappointing campaign.

Murali Vijay: The Kings XI Punjab skipper for the second half of the tournament, Vijay scored 453 runs in 14 games at a strike rate of 124.45 with five fifties. He averaged 34.84 with a best of 89. Considering his record in the past though, this was a disappointing effort.

Quinton de Kock: In 13 games, the Delhi Daredevils opener managed 445 runs at a strike rate of 136.08 with one hundred and three fifties. He averaged 37.08 with a best of 108. De Kock was among the few positives for Delhi in an otherwise disappointing campaign.

Suresh Raina: In 15 matches, Raina scored 399 runs at a strike rate of 127.88 with three fifties. Raina finished the IPL with a disappointing average of 28.50 with a best of 75 for Gujarat Lions.
